Religion
Religion is one of the three primary choices the player can make during character creation before embarking on the Path. There are 24 religions to choose from, each with their own unique abilities and prayers. Religion also contributes to your starting stats.
Prayers
Each religion grants the player the use of three prayers, which are active abilities used by pressing 1 to 3 keys. Only the first prayer is available at the start of the game; the second prayer is unlocked at Glory 10 and the third at Glory 20. Each prayer has a limited maximum amount of charges that are unique to each prayer and are used up when a prayer is activated. Each prayer has a unique condition for when its charges are restored. Some prayers also confer bonuses when fully charged or lacking charges; such bonuses are always active as long as the prayer is unlocked.
When the player uses a prayer, it triggers 'on prayer' events. Such events are also triggered if prayers are recited by an Ogham; notably, an Ogham cannot recite prayers the normal way.
Divine Intervention
A Divine Intervention occurs when the player's Life is reduced to 0 if at least one of their prayers is fully charged. On a divine intervention, the player's Life is restored up to 25% of their Max Life and a single random, fully charged prayer is drained of all its charges. Besides that, all 'on divine intervention' events are activated. Divine Intervention is directly modified for worshipers of Apophis; for them, it restores 50% life instead of 25% as usual.
